Please see the following message from Millcreek Township School District Superintendent, Dr. John Cavanagh, regarding the use of motorized bikes and scooters on MTSD facility property:
“We seek your cooperation in maintaining a safe and secure environment at our school events and facilities. Recently, there have been incidents involving the operation of motorized scooters and bikes on district property, particularly at Hanlon Field at McDowell High School. Students have been riding on the turf and courts and navigating through spectators during events. These activities pose safety risks and increase the potential for injuries to students, families, and guests. While students are permitted to ride motorized scooters or bikes to school events, they are required to turn off and walk their devices once on district property. As indicated by posted signage, the operation of motorized scooters and bikes on school grounds is not allowed. We kindly ask parents and guardians to review these expectations with their children prior to attending events. Our intention is to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators. For students who do not adhere to these posted rules, disciplinary measures may be taken. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us maintain a safe school community.”
